From Hijra to Miʿraj: The Brain as the Mirror of the Heavens

How the ascent of the soul unfolds through language, intellect, and divine light

1. The Two Journeys of the Soul

There are two journeys within the soul’s evolution. The first is the Hijra — the migration of the soul through the stages of purification, where one leaves behind attachment, illusion, and emotional dependency. The second is the Miʿraj — the ascent of consciousness into the intellect. Most people never reach this second journey; many are still packing their bags at the gates of the Hijra.

2. The Path of Ascent: From Morality to Intellect

The Hijra is the rising through the levels of the soul — the journey from moral awareness toward divine reason. The Miʿraj begins when the soul reaches intellect, where reason transforms into wisdom. Below this turning point, the branches of knowledge exist only in their practical forms. But once the ascent begins, the abstract branches awaken — twelve in total — each reflecting one of the twelve Imams (ʿa).

3. The Twelve Branches and the Awakening of Language

Each branch corresponds to one of the twelve cranial nerves. These are not merely biological pathways but spiritual conduits of perception and consciousness. The vagal nerve, for instance, is the path of Imam ʿAli (ʿa), guiding language, speech, and communication — the first of the intellectual branches. This is why language becomes the first sign of the intellect’s awakening. When morality has matured and emotion has stilled, language rises as the first instrument of divine articulation.

4. From Circle to Spiral: The Law of Ascension

At this stage, the Hijra refines the body and the emotions; the Miʿraj transforms reason into light. When the Hijra is complete, the circle becomes a spiral — and the soul begins to rise. This is the point where the heart connects to the intellect, and the intellect awakens as divine law: the ‘aql that perceives order, balance, and meaning.

5. The Descent with Light: Reconnecting to the Body

As the soul ascends, the intellect begins to fold back toward the body — not through emotion, but through wisdom. The body becomes receptive again, but this time as an instrument of higher command. Healing begins to take place here: the body, once bound by instinct, now responds to illumination. The descent that follows the Miʿraj carries the intellect downward through the body’s neural pathways, so that on the next ascent, the entire being — body, mind, and soul — can rise together.

A radiant, semi-transparent human brain glowing against a dark, starry sky. Neural pathways light up like constellations, symbolizing the samāwāt — the seven heavens — within the mind. Golden threads of light spiral upward through the brain’s structure, suggesting the journey of Hijra and Miʿraj, merging the physical and spiritual realms in one illuminated ascent.
6. The Brain as the Mirror of the Heavens

At this stage, the human brain itself begins to mirror the samāwāt — the elevations, the seven heavens. As neurons form new connections, networks of light appear in the brain like constellations in the sky. This is not merely symbolic: on EEG screens, the brain truly lights up when pathways of meaning, language, and spiritual insight activate. This illumination is the internal Qur’an — the Word of God manifest as light within the human microcosm.

From this node, seven concentric, layered spirals descend, each representing one level of the soul. Within each level, five smaller nodes branch out symmetrically, representing the five senses, connected to the central spiral by delicate lines. The connections form a harmonious, tree-like structure that also resembles a fractal or sacred geometry mandala. Color Palette: Deep indigo for the central node and main spirals Gold and copper highlights on branches and sense nodes Subtle amber and soft bronze accents for the interconnections Faint celestial stars and constellations in the background, blending indigo with deep midnight blue Lines connecting nodes slightly luminescent, harmonizing contrast and flow Style: Symmetrical, balanced, and mystical, combining spiritual sacred geometry with a scientific neural-network aesthetic Glowing lines and soft gradients to indicate energy flow and consciousness activation Background minimal, allowing focus on the branching structure and harmonic colors Composition Notes: Top node is dominant and eye-catching Descending layers clearly indicate hierarchy: soul → chakras → senses Visual flow from top to bottom, representing the intellect connecting to body and senses Overall impression of order, harmony, and energetic flow, with subtle cosmic motifs
7. The Qur’an as Light Within

When this occurs, the Qur’an ceases to be an external book and becomes a radiant map of the inner heavens. The intellect, guided by divine law, begins to reflect the order of creation itself. This is the point where knowledge becomes consciousness — where the light of revelation and the light of the mind merge into one.

Introduction and Welcome

Introduction: Unveiling the Inner Blueprints Welcome to Inner Blueprints, a space where we explore the profound intersection between personality, spirituality, and self-discovery through an Islamic lens. Here, we delve into the unique workings of each individual’s soul—what we call the blueprint —and how it aligns with the divine guidance set forth by the Qur’an and the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS). Our journey begins with the belief that every person possesses a distinct potential, a fiṭrah (natural disposition) crafted by Allah, that reflects their purpose in this world. Ma sha Allah, the human being holds immense power—not just to analyze the workings of the mind but also to understand the depths of the soul. Through reflection, faith, and guidance, we uncover the essence of our existence and move closer to aligning with our Creator’s blueprint. Why MBTI? The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) offers a valuable framework for understanding how we think, feel, and interact with t...

Soul Levels 5–7: From Inner Alignment to Cosmic Integration

Exploring Soul Levels 5–7, Reflection on Creation, Astronomy, and Divine Wisdom 🌿 Level 5 – Reflection, Awareness, and Ethical Alignment Essence: At level 5, the soul begins to awaken to its responsibilities, both inward and outward. The focus is on ethical alignment, self-reflection, and conscious action, guided by the wisdom of the Qur’an and the Ahlul Bayt (AS). Purpose: This level is not just about knowing right from wrong; it’s about embedding understanding into lived experience. Actions begin to carry weight because the heart is receptive to alignment with divine principles. Process: Engage deeply with Risālat al‑Ḥuqūq and other teachings on human responsibilities. Observe one’s reactions, choices, and relationships as mirrors of inner state. Begin to discern between temporary worldly gain and eternal benefit, understanding that external successes may not indicate spiritual elevation. Outcome: Ethic...

The Amygdala, pineal gland, changing genetic misprograms and the Holy Qur'an

How the Arabic Quran Activates the Amygdala, Pineal Gland, and Corrects Genetic Programming In the realm of neuroscience and spirituality, the power of the Arabic Quran goes beyond mere words—it activates key brain structures that influence both emotional regulation and higher consciousness. The amygdala and pineal gland are two critical areas of the brain involved in this transformative process, working together to help correct inherited or learned emotional and behavioral patterns. Here’s how this process unfolds: 🔹 The Amygdala: Emotional Processing and Regulation The amygdala plays a key role in processing emotions, particularly fear, anxiety, and pleasure. When reciting or listening to the Arabic Quran , the rhythm, structure, and sound of the language activate the amygdala in a way that promotes emotional healing and balance . How it works: Arabic recitation’s distinct intonation, rhythm, and frequency stimulate the amygdala, allowing the brain to process emotions more eff...
